THUS SPAKE BHAGWAN MAHAVIR...

Non-violence is the supreme religion

Anger destroys love;
Ego destroys modesty;
 Deceit destroys friendship and Greed destroys everything

The soul is the architect of one`s happiness and unhappiness.
Therefore the soul on the right path is one's own friend and a soul on the wrong path is one's enemy.

6 Ways to Protect Your Eyes and Maintain Good Vision

6 Ways to Protect Your Eyes and Maintain Good Vision

Regular eye checkups from an ophthalmologist or optometrist are important. They should be done once a year if you are over age 65. Your doctor will recommend earlier and more frequent exams if you have diabetes or if you are already showing early signs of eye problems from diabetes, high blood pressure, or other causes. These important steps can help prevent eye and vision problems:

1
You want to protect your eyes from the sun much like you would protect your skin from the sun with SPF and UV protection.  The sun's damaging rays can lead to cataracts and macular degeneration over time if they aren't protected with sunglasses.  This is because UV bands of light from the sun penetrate the retina leading to eye damage.  When selecting protective sunglasses avoid ones that are marked as cosmetic and select ones that are designated as having 99% or 100% UV protection.

2
You may be familiar with the damage smoking does to internal organs.  However, there is also a direct link between smoking and and eye problems.  If you are a smoker you are increasing your risk of developing a number of eye diseases including: cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, dry eye syndrome, optic nerve damage, and even diabetic retinotherapy.

3
If you are engaging in the occasional glass of wine or cocktail you are most likely not harming your eyes, but excessive drinking for extended periods of time could lead to eye damage. Chronic alcohol abuse can lead to degeneration of the optic nerve, which can result in vision reduction, blind spots, and reduced color visibility. Short-term alcohol consumption can trigger migraines, which cause some people to experience flashing lights.

4
Untreated high blood pressure (hypertension) can affect eyesight and even lead to hypertensive retinotherapy. Hypertensive retinotherapy is directly caused by having high blood pressure, making it highly preventable.  It is also important to maintain healthy cholesterol levels as high cholesterol can lead to circumferential arcus and retinal vein occlusion (vascular eye disease).

5
Prolonged inadequate blood glucose monitoring can cause diabetic retinotherapy.  Diabetic retinotherapy is a result of damage to the innermost layer of the eye, the retina.  Other eye complications related to diabetes include: blindness, corneal erosion, cataracts, double vision, and bleeding.

6
Eating foods rich in antioxidants, such as leafy greens like spinach, kale, and collards are exceptionally good for not only eye health but overall wellness.  Antioxidants are vitamins that protect and repair cells from damage such as infection thus keeping your immune system strong.  Fruits and Vegetables that are very colorful tend to pack the most antioxidants including: berries, prunes, plums, alfalfa sprouts, eggplant, beans, and red grapes.

anti-fog technology Glasses....

The intensive Optifog TV campaign that began November 5 will continue through December 4 on SKY channels. To launch Optifog’s new and revolutionary anti-fog technology, the company has prepared a comprehensive communication plan that has been showing signs of success since it began November 5: an audience of 6 million viewers for the first day of the Optifog spot.
‘Mario il macellaio’ [Mario the butcher] is the very popular and hilarious subject of the Optifog spot who gets out of his refrigerated truck to deliver a side of beef to an elegant jewelry store because his ‘non Optifog’ lenses are “very foggy”.
“We are talking about 6,400 spots in one month on SKY channels” stated Massimo Barberis, Sales & Marketing Director at Essilor Italia “that light-heartedly educate consumers about the absolutely new OptifogTM and are part of a wide strategic picture that aims to create new contacts and business opportunities for opticians who are our partners and customers. Social networks are already involved thanks to the viral diffusion of the ‘Mario il macellaio’ video that has already been seen over one million times on YouTube. We also have a new website, www.optifog.it, that gives users even more information about the product. A consumer-oriented, easy-to-use site that is attractive and packed with information and clear videos”.

THE WORLD IS GROWING MYOPIC !!!

We have unlearnt the skill to stare into the distance. By focusing solely on computer screens and sheets of paper, our eyes have lost the habit of staring into the horizon with a subsequent rise in the incidence of myopia in industrialized countries. It is the most common sight disorder in the United States (one and a half billion people in the world), marking an increase from 25 per cent in 1972 to 42 per cent in 2004.
But books, TV and computer screens are seemingly innocent this time. And neither are carrots and cranberries considered as a cure-all. The major enemies of myopia are the hours we spend outdoors. This was initially noticed a few years back, and a study presented at the American Academy of Ophthalmology – currently underway in Orlando - confirms that every additional hour spent outdoors by children and adolescents during the week diminishes their likelihood of becoming myopic by 2%.
Hence, the beneficial effects of outdoor life are not limited to maintaining physical fitness, and metabolism. There are two feasible reasons that underpin the theory of outdoor life as protection against myopia. Firstly, natural light, which is far brighter than the light shed by electric bulbs, protects the shape of the ocular bulb by stimulating the production of dopamine in the retina (dopamine is a neurotransmitter that also limits growth of the ocular bulb); secondly, when we step outdoors, our eyes are naturally inclined to focus on     the farthest objects, or even on the horizon, if we happen to be outside the city.
The study conducted by the British university combines the results of eight studies that have been carried out during the past four years on a total number of 10.400 children and adolescents. They were observed by measuring the quality of vision and lifestyle. While the association between healthy eyes and time spent outdoors was evident, no data was found to the prove that myopia is the direct consequence of hours spent on books, watching TV or, however, focusing on objects placed at an approximate distance of 30 cm.
Those who watch a lot of TV but compensate by spending several hours outdoors do not present a higher risk of myopia than those who scorn the remote control. Besides, the theory that reading and focusing on electronic screens “tires the eyes” causing ocular bulb deformation (a disorder that is determined by inherited genes to a good extent) has now been debunked. Moreover, sports activities seem to serve no purpose in maintaining long-distance vision if they are practiced in indoor gyms and sports facilities.

It is certainly no mere chance that studies conducted in Australia reported eagle-eyed children, regardless of genetic heritage. The country that prides in bright sunlight and wide horizons counts more hours of outdoor activities for its youth (14 a week) than Singapore (barely 3 hours a week), the capital city of lost dioptres.

The Girl with X-Ray Eyes

The Girl with X-Ray Eyes

Natasha Demkina claims she has an extraordinary gift that means she can quite literally see right through people. Her story sounds like it has come straight from the pages of a science fiction comic book, but apparently Natasha is able to look into people’s bodies and correctly diagnose their medical problems, without any help from ultrasound or x-ray equipment.
Natasha’s mother, Tatyana Vladimovna, says that her daughter appeared to be like any other child as she grew up, although she was mature for her age. Natasha learned to do things more quickly than other children; she was able to talk at just six months and by the time she was a year old she could recite Pushkin. At three she had learned the alphabet and mastered how to operate a snow mobile.
